OMG......look at what happened to Purtis Creek when people started managing the vegetation. Don't mess with Mother Nature......Fork is great just like it is.

they sprayed the hyacinth not salvinia..... and a lot of the hydrilla died because the hyacinth shaded it and choked it out.

Pretty sure the vegetation that you're talking about is Emergent Pennywort. There is some alligator weed, but the lush taller bigger leafed plant is Pennywort.
