The bayou that runs by the house at its widest is 20 feet. Frequently see south of the border illegals cast netting, sometimes they work in groups of 2 or 3. Saw them out the other day and asked them if they caught any bass and they said yes in perfect English. When I tried to explain to them it is illegal to take bass by netting they immediately gave the response they can't speak English. I showed them the difference and helped them throw about a dozen fingerlings (most were dead) and about 5 bass that were over a pound from their bucket. They still had about 30 perch and talapia.
Why do these types get a free ride? What would happen to us if we did the same thing to their home country? Any ideas on stopping this? I am thinking the game warden has bigger fish to fry.

Call the game warden, if they have a license he can't write a ticket for the perch and tilapia, but he can still fine them big time for the bass, game wardens are there to enforce the law, there is no poaching situation too small. I would call the operation game thief hotline.

They get a free ride because people like you get on the internet and complain about it, instead of calling the Game Warden. Plain and simple. It's also not illegal to harvest non-game fish with a throw net. Learn the law. And then if people are breaking it, call the authorities, rather than bitching about it on a forum.
