I heard the Sweetwater bass club was won with 10 lbs and one of those was a 7 lb fish. We had one 7-8lb beside the boat that got off and a few dinks on Saturday there. Didn't even fish Sunday. A lot of suspended fish. I think I'll wait a few weeks to go back

Stillwaters had their club tourney this weekend. 10lbs won it and only one weighed a limit, 14 fish total weighed in. The lake is tough right now. I had two bites all day, one for sure. Spike, I'll take you up with a lesson on Ivie if you ever have an open backseat.
Catch em, kiss em, let em go

we fished this weekend......it was TOUGH! 3 guys....fished from 6a-10p and made thousands of casts with all types of baits in 6" to 45ft and we only caught 2 small fish. Sunday we fished again and only caught 2 more. It's tough out there boys....real tough.

Give it a few weeks and it should improve. We graphed lots of fish.....they just didn't want to eat. I will say this.....the lake looked good and there was fry EVERYWHERE! I think that the rain hit perfectly and allowed all those fry to get in some new cover and hide. I think that spawn was a good one and in a few years as long as it can retain water......that lake will once again be amazing!
I'd also like to take a moment to say that despite the slow fishing, Jerry and the Elm Creek staff were awesome. Saturday morning there were two tournaments going on. We rolled in around 5:30am and he was already open and had breakfast ready to go. Jerry always goes out of his way to say hi to everyone and start up a convo. Despite the slow conditions, I always leave with a great tasting burger and the gratitude of Jerry's service and hospitality! He is first class and will take care of you. Once the fishing starts to pick up......do yourself a favor and go stay a few days over there!
