I've caught two on Lake Waxahachie and on on Cedar Creek while bass fishing. Both on Waxahachie were on jigs. The one on cedar creek was on a texas rigged lizard.
I think they may eat shad, but for the most part they eat Crawfish. The fabled Blue Hole on Waxahachie that people talk about has a ton of them in the Spring that you can catch on live or boiled crawfish.

The only true intercontinental champion.

This one hit a shad pattern crankbait (all white) in about 6 ft off a rocky bank. It put up a good fight and was the highlight of the day. We were out for bass, but had a difficult time getting any bass to hit this day. We tried a lot of different presentations to no avail. Had no takers on topwater early... got the drum about 9... Jeff got a decent bass on a crank about 10 or so and had some good hits on a c-rig but missed the hookup.

Thanks for posting the pic Jeff.

This entire weekend was like fishing the dead sea. We fished Fork and Grapevine with a donut hole for the result on bioth lakes.
