Hamby's professionally installed and glassed in. Best and cheapest do not belong in the same sentence.

Mine lasted 15+ years. I need to replace it right now. My mechanic said the lifetime warranty is good if professionally installed.

They are all good, what you want and need are two different things. The one you buy depends on how much money you want to spend and what you want the guard to do! If you are going to slam into concrete then the Hamby's or the Kevlar Keel Shield would be best but they cost more. If you are a weekend guy just needing something for light use then the Keel Shield standard is my choice due to cost warranty and durability.
Check out the web site at www. Gator-guards.com, I have had a light duty Keel shield on my guide boat for over six years and it looks new.

Keel Shield works great. My last boat had one that I installed back in 1993 and was still in Great Shape when I traded in my Skeeter.

I have had a Keel Shield on a 23 foot cuddy cabin that weighs about 6500 pounds. I beach and or come up on boat ramps a few times a year and have had 0 problems. No scratches on hull except where I touched before I had my protection on. (Which are mostly covered by the Keel Guard)

It actually looks like it did the day it was put on after about 8 - 9 years.
The keel Shield guys had a thing at Bass Pro, buy it and the Keel Shield factory guys will put it on. I watched them install it and wouldn't hesitate to do it myself.
If I ever trade boats I will get another Keel Shield ASAP.
I have seen the Hambys and they do look a bit bigger but I couldn't go the $600+ they wanted for that size boat.

I feel more like I do now than I did when I first got here!

Used Hambys since introduction until had to retire 3 yrs ago. In 200 plus days a year on the water my Hambys were on the ramp many times. Never any problem. Roger, if you are still around, once again Thanks.

Keel Shield has been flawless on two boats I've had. Wouldn't pay extra for a name!
