Any ideas on places and techniques to catch some big cats? Looking for a spot witchin an hour or so of DFW

If I wanted a big one Tawakoni would be my first choice. Drifting some shad over some points should get you some bites.

^^^^ I just looked at www.lewisvillecatfish.comfrom stinkbait tom's post above. That looks like a pretty good deal to me. I wouls also think that Salsa and Ms. Salsa over at Tawakoni would be a great place to start

Wish I could help you HTole. From the posts on here I would have to try Tawakoni. But if the new guy would have maybe posted telling us a bit about himself the welcoming party would have been different  First post wanting not only fish info but big fish info kinda like walking up to a stranger and asking to borrow 100 bucks

Great guy that really busts tail to KEEP you on fish and is a great teacher. Never had a guide that was even close. Through the years I have heard nothing but great things about Tom as well and he has helped me out a ton through this forum when I was first getting started. I don't think you can go wrong with either. If guides aren't your thing don't over look the Trinity river, there are some good sized cats in there in the metromess.

I think I did the same thing when I first got in here. Show me the fish! And could someone lend me $100 for trolling motor gas?
