Game Wardens save teen submerged for 26 minutes at Lake Sam Rayburn By Cheyenne Simpson
Updated: 06/28/2014 6:51 pm CDT
A teenage boy is in critical condition at a Texas hospital after he was under water for more than 20 minutes.
According to Texas Parks & Wildlife Game Warden, Morgan Inman, the teenage boy is being identified as, Zorian Esquel, 13, of Katy.
Inman said it all started around 12:00 p.m. on Saturday when he along with two other Game Wardens, Roy Eddins and Justin Eddins and the Jasper County Sheriff's Office responded to a drowning at Ebenezer Park on Lake Sam Rayburn.
When they arrived on scene they saw Esquel's father, who was clearly in distress, clinging to a buoy.
After getting him to safety, Inman along with the two other Game Wardens began diving the nearby area for Esquel.
Without any diving equipment the three Game Wardens began searching the bottom of the lake by hand.
Inman said after 5 or 6 minutes of feeling the bottom of the lake for Esquel's body, they called in a nearby fishermen for help.
The fishermen, who's boat was equipped with a sonar, began searching the water with the sonar detector.
After the fishermen located Esquel, the Game Wardens pulled the body out of the water and into an ambulance.
Inman said the boy was under water for about a total 26 minutes.
EMS began performing CPR, while in route to Jasper Memorial Hospital. After only a few minutes paramedics began detecting Esquel's heartbeat and pulse.
Esquel was then flown to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston where he is now in critical condition.
Inman said the water where the accident occurred is about 10 feet deep and very murky, so it's hard to tell what caused the boy to go under.
Esquel was visiting the lake with his family when the incident occurred.

It is very obvious that God already has a hand in this yet I am still praying asking for a full recovery of the young man. I also ask in the name of Jesus that the father gets some relief from this as well as a father I know I would be feeling pretty distraught if I couldn't save my son. Special thanks to the men who were willing to give their all to save this boy.

Do I look WORRIED?

That is great, the guys gave that kid a fighting chance. I pray for everyone in this accident, God is good! This is the type of story I love to hear about Selfless Service.

His mighty hand was obviously on this young man.
Thank you Lord and bless those men that did not give up!

just a reminder that game wardens are not all bad but sometimes they have a bad day. They have a tuff job and don't get bad enough for the job they do. Dealing with the public is not always easy. Thanks to the 3 game wardens this young person might have a chance at life. Another reminder is a God of second chances.

Sad to say but the boy passed away. There was a full story yesterday. The game wardens were still very heroic and went above and beyond.
