Curious if anyone knew where one might start to learn to hand fish, any ideas on some creeks that might be useful? Looking for some decent sized catfish.

Well with all due respect he is wanting to legally fish for catfish, by the rules of the forum he has every right to post in the catfishing forum, just because someone is fishing a different method than y'all doesn't mean he has any less of a right to post here

Send me a PM with your number HTole and I will help you out the best I can. I have caught some good fish noodling and its not much of a secret on the hows and whys of the sport. Don't let the bashers get you down on here they feel they are the only ones that care for this fish we all love to catch. Us dumb ol' rednecks that enjoy hand fishing are all the spawn of satan himself, running around tearing up boat ramps and killing every fish we can get our hands on....If you guys knew how ignorant you sounded trying to demonize the sport of hand fishing you might get a kick out of yourselves, if you could climb down off your high horse for a bit.
I am from East Texas and anytime I get in a conversation about deer hunting people automatically assume I ride around and shoot deer out of a truck with a spotlight. I guess folks will always have their funny ways, and judgment can get passed on me by you fine folks of TFF without ever meeting me and I won't go without sleep because of it. As I have stated more than once on here, your opinion is as good as mine but on the flip side if you really think that any of us care that you don't like the fact that I can legally go out and hand fish you are a bit full of yourself. Please try this in the future, If a thread about noodling, hand fishing, grabbling, etc. comes up how about you just skip to the next thread about so and so wearing the blues or channels or "i caught my PB flatty on R&R" and praise them for doing it "the right way" and leave the noodling post to us. I have seen it to much and this is the main reason i keep to myself for the most part on this forum, If they started a hand fishing section some of you guys would still get on it and bash us for ruining the Texas lakes, when in reality we do no more and probably even less harm than the rest of you guys with your preferred method of fishing. I know this will fall on deaf ears but if every thread about noodling has to have some negative post in it within minutes of being on the forum I guess I will post a positive comment that will do the same as your negative post, which is absolutely NOTHING!

Enjoy catching them however you desire,
Clay
