The wife and I took a Friday off and spent a couple hours testing out my new kayak in tandem configuration. Despite the weather forecast, we made the trip up and launched. Couldn't find any on beds as I figured it was alittle late for that but fishinng was fair despite the howling wind. Fish were scattered and I could never really dial them in. So much moss that my fish finder wasn't really helping. I was armed with my 2wt fly rod and she with worms and we caught 4 good size bream and some smaller ones mixed in. Caught a bass on my first cast too! We saw some bad weather rolling in and decided to cut the trip short but Raven still produces some monsters.

Sounds like a good time on the water.  That is one HUGE Bluegill. Good job on finding em.

That's average for Raven. Ok, alittle bigger than average but this lake holds some monsters. Perfect paddle lake (no wake) and they rent canoes if you don't have a yak. Hit me up and let's go find some.

I wish I would have taken a head on shot. These fish have some series shoulders on them! They are thick enough to filet.

I WANT TO GO!! Did you go launch at the state park? Whats your opinion of the camp ground? Yep. Love the lake, and the park, but it gets CROWDED on weekends and the clientele isn't always the best people. Lots of trash left around, always a lot of cops patrolling, and I don't always feel like my stuff is safe if camping. Again, that's only on weekends. There are always cops patrolling though.

Hit Raven again on Sunday and caught a few. Tried drop shotting some structure in deeper water and caught a few that way too.  Caught this pig sight fishing on a foam spider.
