How's has the fishing on this lake been? I recall hearing about a fish kill a few years ago, I just don't remember how long ago it was or how it has affected fishing now. I've never been but kinda thinking about trying it for striper and sandies and maybe crappie if that doesn't work. I'm sure the fresh water might get the fish biting too with all that oxygen.

Went out there Saturday before the big rain. Fishing was slow for me. Located lots of stripers near the power lines. The fish seemed active, but I just couldn't get them to bite. I could not get any bites on slabs or on crank baits. The only way I ended up with any was by trolling with a bomber and spoon rig. Caught several baby stripers. Maybe live bait would have produced some keepers, but I'll never know. I was there during midday and afternoon. It may be that the morning and evening bite was good. I have seen the morning topwater bite to be pretty good in past years.

Was out there Saturday myself it was kinda slow early in the day and trolling was generally the ticket boated about 25 or so then about 11:00 found a school actively feeding just south of the power lines , and it was fish on 1 hour the 4 of us added 80 to the count for the day, baby stripes mixed in about every third fish. Kept about 20 good size sandies for a fry. This was my third run out to GB this month and think we have boated a bit over 450 fish, it's been pretty good, and not a lot of dinks.

Any one know if they have opened the ramp at the dam? Yes, it is open. Hunter park is the only one I know of that is still closed and that is because of park improvements that are being done.

Thanks for the info Federale, that's really good news, its only 15 minutes to the dam for me but takes over half an hour to get down town the its a 35 min boat ride to that end.

No problem. My folks live on the water on the north end but I usualy prefer to drive 20 mins to put in at the dam.
