I see Wilcox tying a loop knot on his crank baits that looks better than the one I tie (which I've heard is called a Rapala Knot). Can someone point me to a link that illustrates the one Wilcox uses?

I use that loop knot on a jerk bait and Palomar for everything else.

Thanks for the response. I didn't word my post well. I am using the Rapala Knot, it looks like Bill ties a different knot that I'm trying to learn.

If you are tying that Rapala knot correctly, it should have 100% knot strength (knot strength = fishing line lb test)

I have used it for years, and it works great... I rarely break off a crankbait on a snag, and have almost never been broken off by a fish while using a Rapala knot.

Try Canoe Man Loop Knot. Very easy to tie and strong.

I like the doubled uni knot--very versatile knot--great for fluoro, copoly, braid, mono, hybid line to hook. I use it as my drop shot knot and my loop knot. It's the only knot I use now for line to tackle/swivel/hook.

(this is not the double line to line uni)

The doubled uni leaves three tag ends. If you pull on the loop tag tightly first it will cinch to form a loop knot.

The title of this video should be Doubled Uni

Why not simply use an oval split ring?

It is for applications when a split ring isn't in use. I appreciate everyone's input. I found a Terry Scroggins video that demonstrates it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wimBX4R3Or4

You can just use a uni knot or double uni cinched to the main line not down to the terminal end of the line, I'll tie it with a loop end if I need freer hook tie movement
