Always use braided line and count to 3 after the blow up before you set the hook and then hold on tight and enjoy the addiction of the best fishing there is.

Spro frogs are good lures, but a ribbit frog, IMO, gets more action and fish.
An yes, both ways are a blast, day or night

Braid, a rod with some back bone, high speed reel. I prefer dark colors such as midnight walker, or natural red.

Good advice - but you'll be doing good to make it past a count of one!

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

Trim 1 leg shorter than the other to help the walking action. Slightly bend both hooks out for a better hook up ratio. And what others have said in the previous responses! It is my favorite way to catch a bass!!

Power pro braid works great for me. If a bass swipes at the frog but misses, try to resist snatching the frog away. Just let it sit still for a few counts before you resume swimming it. Sometimes the fish will come back and get it. Also, if you stick a fish but miss her, throw a worm back to the same spot and just let it sit for a few seconds. Sometimes the fish will come back and scarf up the worm.

These two posts right here are great advice!! bend your hooks out some, and trim your legs... I fish mine on a MH Eagle claw proto-type rod that I got years ago, and use 30lb braid...

Also, since no one has added, keep working it even if you pull it off the pads or matted grass into open water... I have gotten alot of hits between the boat and the grass I was pulling it across out in open water... you never know if that big ol bass is waiting for that frog to hit open water instead of trying to gobble it off of the matted grass!

lol my only other advice is be ready for anything... I had a gar blow up on my booyah pad crasher last weekend...

Every day is different in terms of how to work the bait and how long if any you wait to set the hook. I would suggest checking YouTube as well as Googling some frog videos. If you are a visual learner you will enjoy it. Hope you stay with it and enjoy as its a fun way to fish. Its fairly easy to learn and the cool thing is big fish like frogs.

Take everyone's advice them experiment like Mark said everyday is different some days they engulf the frog other they don't seem to ever want to swallow it.

Can you trim the legs too short? I've trimmed mine down and can't seem to get it to "walk".
