I really didn't know anything about the lake and was lucky enough to run into a local guy who was very helpful and gave me lots of good information about how to run the boat lanes, good spots for bass, etc. Anyways, my son and I got into a good of school the bass down by the dam. We probably caught 12 to 15 fishbetween 2.5 and 12 pounds. Most were in the 3 to 5 pound range. We were catching them on crankbaits (deep lil N) in 8 to 12ft of water. Only fished about 3hrs before the storms ran us off the lake. Will be going back real soon. I love this lake, what little I was able to fish. Heres a pic of me with the biggest catch of the day. She went 11.85 on the digital scale, but I like nice round numbers so lets just say 12. Love that lake but haven't been there for years. Congrats on a fabulous few hours fishing! Do the A-10 Warthogs out of Barksdale still use boats for simulated target practice? Had the you know what scared out of me a few times by those guys. Never hear them coming until they top the trees and are right on top of you.

I don't think anyone could fuss about rounding 11.85 to 12. That's outstanding. I've fish that lake often and I've never had that kind of day. I'm still amazed at the fish that come out of that lake. There are some good size crappie in there too. Check on your 11.85, I don't know what the lake record is. Fouzman, the Warthogs quit buzzing the lake years ago (thank goodness).

Congrats on the toad. For some reason your pic isn't working. I love Big Murv and have had some great days with several 30+lb sacks but I haven't been able to crack the 9lb mark. It's without a doubt my favorite lake to fish.

Lake record is 14.87 caught in February 1993, by the way.
