My SJ1 jigging rod I bought used 15 years ago is still going strong. That includes reds, snook, and sharks in Tampa bay.

Not as good as they once were but still a good rod for the money you want cry when u break one considering u can get em on sale for $29. I have broke as many Falcon and other rods as Allstar. If two rods get banged together like a rough ride across big water there's a good chance first hook set it will break

That's a good rod and a really good deal for someone.

Defective rods typically break in multiple pieces and within the first trip or so. 99% of rod breakage is user error, care or damage from shipping.

"no return to Academy this time"? You purposely making this return complicated? Hard to tell who your anger is focused on. Sounds like you are having bad luck w/All Star rods. Sorry for your bad luck. I keep a handful of All Star rods in the boat for my loaners. Not my favorites but very good rods for the money and they have been resilient. If I had the repeated issues you are having I simply wouldn't buy them anymore......but I would still take the broke one back where I bought it.

I have 35-40 All Star rods dating from the mid 80's to the current ones....I have broke ONE All Star in all that time (knock on wood) and I don't baby rods at all in the boat or in the bed of my truck

that said, any rod can and will break....I also own several other brands including Castaway and GLoomis....all good rods
