It seems once I got my new fish finder I have lost my natural fishing instincts. I've gotten skunked on Waco my last 3 trips for catfish. Need help and advice. Used shad last time first in 6 fow in temple at the middle bosque. No bite there so I moved to the old dam once again no bite there.
I have used chicken breasts soaked in dead red, worms, and shad but not much luck. What time of day are the cats feeding and where in the heck are they? I usually fish in the evening unless it's a weekend.
PS I have an open seat in my boat if someone wants to show me how it's done.

Well it's good to know that I'm not alone. What did you use for bait and how deep were you fishing?

I was drifting the other night along the east bank, north of the old dam but not to the channel that goes under lakeshore. I picked this spot because it was the only place on the lake out of the high winds. Caught a half dozen channels and a small blue. All caught on punch bait. Probably would have done better but got over a mess of crappie and decided to fill the cooler. The cats were in about 25-30 cow caught about half a crank off the bottom.
Heeeeere fishy fishy!

What are your thoughts for fishing this weekend? With all the heavy ran where should I fish? I hear that after a good rain the river mouths can be good but that didn't work last time so I may try deeper where the water is clearer.

Fish the flood waters coming in. Find the muddy water that's flowing and find the fish. Use cut bait.
