Is there some type of maintenance we should do to trolling motors.Like lubing, seals, etc.They just seem to be ignored in that department.

Pull the prop every now and then and check for fishing line. Check the plugs (I hope you don't use any) for wear and good contact. Replace brushes and bearings when needed. (pretty rare.) Also grease the steering cables. and check the fasteners that hold it to the boat.

I have taken several TM to Boris Marine for fine tuning and service. They do a great job and the motor will run much quieter. I have even take new ones to them to quieten them down.
