hey guys:
fished cypress springs again today. still no carp but netted the largest catfish i have ever caught using pop ups. the water at cypress is so clear that i think the vegetation is really thick so i hit on the idea of using pop ups to get above the vegetation and apparently it worked...at least for the catfish.
i have just about run out of pop ups, can someone recommend something that ACS sells? its bewildering looking at all the options. i would imagine that i would fish 2-3 of these on a hair...maybe put one regular boilie on too to make a large fish rig.
i know this lake has massive carp and buffalo in it, we just have to find them!! At least my dad finally got into some fish and I finally got to hear my alarms screaming (these were som big catfish!!! One even surfaced and was flipping around trying to fight)

The solar pineapple- ester creme are the "mutts nuts", I caught on the prologic kiwi and the indian spice. A couple of those little ones does the trick.

BTW its damn nice to see you back. If you're free we've been spending a lot of time on "our" side of the lake. If you can get out this weekend give me a call.

I second that glad your back on the forum!! was wondering what happend to you! the solar pop-ups have caught me a ton of fish for sure, this isn't a shameless plug for BCUK but the blood worm pop-ups and shimp pop-ups have been catching me quite a few fish as of late!!

thanks guys, i've been lurking. we are also going to try NJ Rob's pop up boilies recipe that caught me a few at GV. my fishing time is pretty limited to when i make it out to Cypress Springs to see my folks. we just welcomed another Szepesi into the world on 5/17 so she has all my attention right now i am going to make an effort to go wading for sand bass with rudy one of these times, but long fish ins for the bronze torpedos is out for now.
