hellgrammites, chicken blood , shad gizzard ,cut perch ,cut shad the works
several REALLY nasty things you kant wash out ...
you know that doodee smellin stuff that a week later is still imbedded in your skin
the works ....the gambit ...even used ivory soap ....
but to be sure ...not a one ever outdid ....

and nothing but a very faint bakery odor that rinses right off
roll up a ball on a number 4 eagle claw red treble hook
a bit of 20 lb green Bonehead braid on an Okuma open face
a 6 foot 6 medium Bonehead rod
and git ready to git busy ,,,,,

18 to 35 feet of water ...3 stops ...
100 er so per stop
just to darn much fun for sure

we tried to keep it under 3 limits ....but it was tough
threw a ton a ok legal fish back ....
I would guess at least half or better of the fish brought up
kept fish over 14 er so ....
right busy day ...for sure

we were at lake fork with Stubby yesterday
he also runs a guide service there as well as making a few tubs of that wonder bait
Stubby is really a nice person as well
I consider myself a darn lucky fella with him on my friends list

I just want to say thank you for a terrific day on the water. Ketchen and I spend a lot of time crappie fishing and it was nice to fish half a day and only fish 3 locations. I don't think I've ever seen him that still. Kind of a small miracle.
The other miracle or conversion yesterday was considering catfishing as an equal option to crappie fishing. I spent most of my early childhood living on the banks of small ponds during summer break with tubs of chicken liver, soured shrimp and night crawlers. It was a mess and completely old school and the way my grandpa taught me. I was cool with it and it definitely separated me from my sister.
But today some 50 years later my priorities have changed. I see a wider and wider disconnect between young people today and the outdoors. It's hard enough to convince them to give up the Gameboy for a day let alone tell them becoming a stinky mess is part of the fun.
Your cheese bait is a terrific bait. It's easy to work with and it doesn't stink. It also doesn't leave a mess in your hands.
The youth groups at my church will have no problem spending time on the water catfishing and getting off the grid. It's a bonus for me because I won't be burning through copious amounts of tackle in brush piles and pounds of minnows. I look forward to this new venture.
