What is the best live bait for bass in a pond? I don't bass fish much I'm used to saltwater fishing.

Minnows or shad. You can use small bluegill but they will usually go after minnows and shad.

Very few ponds have shad...almost all ponds have bluegills. Match the hatch and you will be successful.
