Thanks everyone.

I'm 5'9" if that gives you any idea how long it was. It genuinely felt atleast 50 lbs to me when i picked it up. I know what 50 lb's feels like and that fish felt heavier than that to me. Hell, it dang near broke my net. Heres another pic

The funny thing is those big cats don't really seem to fight all that hard, it was more like reeling in a log. Kinda like fighting a shark, they just kinda lay in the water. And boy, the amount of slime that thing had, my shorts looked like i had been doused in a gallon of spuge...lol.

Nice fish. I hope I get to catch it someday. Don't worry, I'll take a picture or two & turn it loose also.

You sure that fish is over 50? If I had to guess I would guess between 30 and 40. I've handled plenty of blue cat over 25# all the way to my personal best which was 56 and that fish was way way longer and fatter. It looks like the 56 is almost twice the size of yours. Invest in a scale. Here's the one I got,http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=380887552805 it's waterproof and only 20 bucks. And it's a 110# scale.

Awesome catch by Bud for sure! smile She looks a little slim to be pushing 50+lbs, if I had to guess she looks more like 30-40lbs. If she had a bit more girth I could see her pushing 50. But no doubt if she's not there now, she might be there this coming winter. wink
