Whatever you chose...go with the best batteries you can afford, to get the best out of your motor.

I'm a striper fisherman-
I've had 36Volt Ipilot 101LB for 18 months now and put a lot of hours on it. I love it. It needs a few minor improvements but what technology doesn't?

Remote Distance- The remote will work from 24ft no problem, if it doesn't you need new batteries. I have launched my boat and tested the range from shore with someone in the boat and it's much further than 24ft.
Realistically you will usually be in the middle of the boat or on the front deck not sitting on the transom toe dipping.
If you engage spot lock and walk out of range the motor will continue the last command until it receives a new one.
This is a good feature but I recommend using a TM Plug on install and don't wire directly. If something goes wrong you can quickly unplug the motor to shut it down or reboot. It's a rare occurrence but helpful.

GPS- Whoever commented about GPS not working for spotlock is correct. Sometimes it is an issue. The issue is however one of not being able to receive good satellite signals. This can be due to clouds, location, or again a low battery in the remote. Always keep a spare remote battery aboard.

Keeping the boat in place is a challenge with inconsistent wind. If the wind changes every few minutes it will take the unit a bit to figure out speed and direction. The majority of the time I don't have a problem as in Texas the wind most days is fairly consistent.

It's a good product and all my friends who still anchor chunk are very jealous.

Right on fishidude! I have the same unit for about 2 or more years and I love mine. It holds my 25ft tritoon with little issues when wind is less than 15mph. One more thing i like to add is their service is awesome. They stand behind their products!

As for improvement, I would love to see auto launch and retract. Wouldn't it be awesome?

Do you know what dirty sox smells like?

My I-pilot remote with control my boat from the dock all the way across the cove at Lake Tawakoni state park. If it won't work from anywhere in your boat something is wrong.

I use the internal transducer on my Terrova and have no issues with the "picture" on my LCX 28.

The remote is line of sight, if some one or something is between it and the receiver it will be erratic.

Spot lock hunting can be helped by not moving around in the boat and causing the receiver head to tilt.

It ain't easy making it look easy.
