I'm currently on My third scale this year. One spring and two digital. I just checked my digital scale after having it for almost a month and its reading over a pound under. My question is, is there any scale out there that is accurate that doesn't cost $200? Are the lip grip ones accurate I have seen them on tv but never personally.

Boga Grip costs about $130 and is extremely accurate. However, it only weighs in 1/4 lb increments. Great for fun fishing but not tournaments. Cul-m-Rite is what you want.

for a tournament i feel a balance scale is more usefull than a spring or digital scale. If you want to know what it weighs its a toss up. Spring scales wear out and digital never seam to wheigh the same fish the same weight...

If you're doing tournaments, the only thing that matters is the biggest bag, and everyone will weigh on the same scale in the end, so a balance beam will be best really for that purpose

I should have said I just fish for fun. I have never entered a tournament. The one one tackle warehouse is the one I was looking. Its pretty reliable?
