Woohoo! My next to the youngest dropped it off today. Took Lane's advice and ordered a Work Sharp with $100 my youngest son gave me to go with it. The next to the youngest got me the 9" tapered flex. I bet I'm gonna like it after I practice with it.

I may be getting one soon. Should I go with 7" or 9"?

I would say 9" tapered flex. It's a big knife but I have big hands. Think I will like it fine. 7" might work too though.

I haven't been able to decide between the 9" and 7". Watching Lane's video he saws through the rib cage. When you have used it a few times Bobby let us know what you think about the 9". Congrats on the awesome gift.

All I can say it ain't as easy as they make it look. It takes time to develop skills like they have.
I am amazed at how sharp you can get that 9" knife and that the edge has held up surprisingly well.

I have all three . I clean everything with the 7 inch. I clean quite a few fish. It takes some practice but one can become very efficient with it. For me It was better to learn on some smaller keepers with them smaller rib bones . My first attempts was not pretty ! Just have to stay with it ! I feel I get more meat than with my mr. Twister that was a piece of junk in my opinion. One thing that helps is to put them on ice for a couple hours . Meat comes off better and is firmer . Also what lane said get a worksharp!

I bought myself the 7 inch for Father's day. Caught a mess of hybrids and whites at Tawakoni and had a difficult time with the mister twister. Bubba blade is sold at Academy now
