Here's a couple places I've stayed at before, and I live right in Tyler. Sometimes it's just nice to stay a weekend at the lake. http://www.lakepalestineresort.com/This is the ramp in the back of Ledbetter. They sell bait (live and a decent selection of artificials), beer, good hot food from a restaurant in the marina, fish cleaning station, and have a good boat ramp. They do not sell tobacco. They've got two good ramps and good places to keep your boat in the water while you're staying there. The hotel rooms are small but comfy, the cabins are larger and pretty nice, and they have RV hookups which I've never stayed at. It's about a 4 mile stump free boat ride (after you get under the Ledbetter Bridge) from here to where we're having the get together at. http://www.lakesidegetaway.com/This is the hotel inside of Saline Bay. They've got nice big rooms, a good ramp, fish cleaning station, and decent places to tie your boat up after you're through fishing. Last time I stayed there they were building new docks, they should be finished by now, but I'm not sure. The place where the get together is is about a mile or less from here by boat. These are the two places I've stayed at, there are a few more places around the lake to keep an RV at but I've never used any of them.

Just a thought! Since this isn't competition, and the whole point is for TFF'ers to get acquainted, why don't us locals offer a back seat to any TFF'er from afar, so they don't have to haul a boat 100+ miles. I can think of 7-8 off the top of my head that live within 30 minutes of a launch on Palestine, and most of us are within 30 min of Raptor's place, including myself. Two other ideas, no competition involved, but as folks confirm they'll be here, have them specify BOAT with EMPTY BACK SEAT, or, NO BOAT. Then, at the kick-off, have a partner draw. And finally, if it's alright with everyone, I'll see if I can get my hands on a roll of Name Tags so each of us can have a sticker visible showing a screen name & a street name. WADAYA THINK? UDAMAN!

I would love to come but I don't have a boat. I would be willing to cover all of the gas if someone would let me join them on their boat and are coming from DFW. I live in grapevine.

I am in. Money sent out today. Have boat, but I would prefer not to drag it 2.5 hrs, so back seat would be welcomed if one is available.

I grew up between Athens and Tyler in Brownsboro, but now live in the Dallas area. I don't have a boat, but would love to meet TFF members, and get back to my former stomping grounds. plus I need to back out to Callendar Lake (near Edom which is where I grew up in the 1980's). So, if space is available on somebody's boat, I'd throw my hat into the ring. 'Class of 89' Longhorn, so if anyone doesn't mind burnt orange on their boat, I'm in. Scott in Flower Mound, TX

I'll be there. I'm just 50 miles away, so I'll have my boat, but I have to admit to not knowing Palestine crappie at all.

I hope to make the trek over...
127 miles/ 2 hours 5 mins.
What would be the closest place to rest my head if I drove in on Friday.
that is a relatively short trip for some of us.... I too am looking for a nearby place to stay (preferably on the water) the night before.
