No luck here from 6-8 this morning. Tried top water frogs and Texas rigged bottom hoppers. Through weeds, past bridge supports, and into deep looking areas. Any specific spots or tactics?

I drive through that area for work all the time, my companies shop is in Farmers Branch. I've been wondering if any of those ponds have anything. See tons of ponds in that area and also some big rivers which I'm guessing are parts of the trinity?? I'd also like to know some good areas to fish. The river by 161 and 35 looks good but I never see anyone fishing.

I've fished around the columns. When that doesn't work, on the south east side of the intersection there's a church with a pond next to it(great spot) fish that & southwest corner of intersection there's a warehouse/building with a pond behind it (holds big bass). These places are within a block radius from each other. Good luck.

River is good for bass fishing when it rains (current)and always good for cat fishing. Roughly a mile west of sandy lake/George bush intersection there is a bait shop(left hand side after bridge) That was good bass/catfish spot as it is right next to the dam. I know the bait shop is still there but not sure how good fishing is now a days.

They drained the Sandy Lake spill way and repaired it this past year. Might be a while before the fishing is good again.

I don't know, they did the same thing to California Crossing, and pulled all those cars out of there, and up until about 2 wks ago, the crappie and sandbass were active, good sized ones, and some big drum as well. It's hot now so we are in a summer pattern there, which is basically, sometimes they bite, sometimes they don't, LOL. But it was fairly steady for awhile.

If you got a small boat or kayak, put in above the dam where the boat ramp is and fish your way upstream,. Right where Denton Creek empties into the Elm Fork, there are some good holes for bass and crappie, farther upstream is a gate/pump that draws water into a Nursery and when they are drawing water in, channel, blue, black bass, crappie, and sandbass swarm to this spot to get the shad and minnows getting sucked in by the artificial current. Above that, between that pump and 35E, great catfishing virtually that whole stretch. Above 35, towards LL, all kinds of fishing is available and good pretty much yr round.

Just sayin'

I know there's some decent fishing over at the L shaped pond near the trinity river put in off belt line at George bush. Only been in there once but caught bass and saw plenty of action, roughly a month ago. Where do you put in to fish around the pillars under George bush? I see all that water there and can't help but thin it has fish and probably doesn't see much pressure... you just drive off there at luna and park in the dirt or what? seems like a good way to get your truck broken into or towed haha

had them hitting on Okeechobee craw havoc pit bosses weedless t-rigged and dragged very slowly on bottom, no hops, all hit while resting after short drags, and all far from shore when I was there (late afternoon/evening) for what it's worth.

I was there on an evening as well. I parked around the gun range. Used t-rig. Not sure how comfortable you guys feel fishing next to an outdoor gun range lol.

Nice, I'm going to have to try some of those spots, I don't have a kayak but I'll still try to get in to some of the locations from the bank. Theres also a part of the river that goes behind this shopping center at 161 and...somewhere I forget but its in the las calinas area. I may trying to park at the center, ask if its cool to park for a bit then run down to the river

I stopped at a creek in the North Irving area. Off Beltline and 114 area. I think the Warmouth perch were either going crazy or recently spawning. Caught about 10 hand size ones off a Rat'n Trap and a small bass. Then tried a frog lure, but not much luck (first time using a frog) only thing interested in the frog was a turtle. You could see its head following it as i was bringing it in, then I threw it close to the turtle and it swam to it and bit it. Then I would move it around and the turtle would follow it around. Then went back to a Rat'n Trap and caught some more warmouth and a pretty good size bass. I think the bigger warmouth were hybrids with the big round sun fish with dark orange/red bellies. Some looked big and round with warmouth color
