Y'all are right about the steering being better with a cable steer because you definitely drive by the angle of your foot. I missed that part at first but I've gotten used to it.
Do t ask me how many times I wrapped the steering cable around and around and around the head before I finally learned to pay attention to not do it. Also, you can't rest your foot on the pedal. It tends to spin around and around until the dummy takes his foot off of it!

Alrighty. Thanks a lot. My 17 year old is the t motor man and he refuses to have the I pilot. So Fortrex it is. I absolutely love the idea of the anchor but that is the only reason I would want it. We weave in and out of trees too much it sounds like to have I pilot. There is no comparison in Maxxum vs Fortrex. Fortrex is just great.

Never used one but have been looking at them. Only draw back I have found is people who use them say they have trouble navigating in stumpy places.

I have the 112 60in shaft. I run the trolling motor for my dad. The best thing he ever got me was the terrova. I can fish more effectively and not have to worry nearly as much. It doest take some getting use to but I don't think I would ever go back. Nobody has mention the recording of trails feature. This might be better than the spot lock feature IMO. We have our favorite spots recorded and I just monitor the speed. Its deadly accurate. Spot lock works well but it is not deadly accurate. It is harder to navigate in trees but a foot control is harder to keep on an open water spot. Point is nothing is flawless. Terrova is the best trolling motor money can buy.

Yep! I forgot to mention the trail recordings. I have recorded some trails in narrow river backwaters and it will take you right down the middle or wherever you recorded the trail. If you stop and the wind blows you over to the side or current pushes you around, as soon as you tap the cont. button with your foot it heads right back to the trail and continues on. I will hit the cont. button off when I want to fish a spot better then tap it again when I,m ready to move on.

Seeing the other post on here about the lost remote reminded me...for y'all that have an ipilot already, you should get you one of those little orange floaties like we all have on our boat keys and attach to your ipilot remote. Much easier to find that way when it falls in the water.

Check out the motorguide before buying. I have the Ipilot but really would like to see the new motorguide version of ipilot
