Hi everyone,

Yesterday I broke off on a couple of fish.... so I am looking to put some new line on my Abu Garcia Revo. I fish with the Texas Rig almost exclusively. Could you give me some of your favorite lines that you use? Floro, mono, braid?

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

I used 12lb trilene xl with a palomar knot for years,it's good line.Switched to invisx 15lb with a double san diego jam knot.the knot is VERY important with floro.the invisx cost a lot more but i love how it feels/fishes.I also like tungsten weights but always peg them. Texas rig is my favorite way to fish.

15# big game in more open water and 50# braid with a 3' 20# pline leader for timber areas. same for biffle bugs and creature baits.

your t-rig line will vary widely, I just use fluro though. could be light as 4 pound on clear water finesse applications or 25 pounds in dingy water on Falcon. 15# is good all around though.

I use vicious 10# fluoro for pitching my texas rig, with an 8 wrap Uni knot wetted very well when tied with loads of slobber haha

I also like the painted tungsten strike king bullet weights for my T-rig, they never rough up the line or knot even without a bead or clacker.

I think sun super sniper fc fluorocarbon of 16 - 20 lb is the best line out there. Cost a lot ,but worth it. Ditto on the tungsten wights.

Interesting that almost every post is something different. I think the key is experiment and find something you like. I primarily use 12# mono for t-rig. Only peg the weight in certain applications. Never broke a fish off with that line. Ive used fluoro also but personally like the mono. I will fish fluoro when I am punching grass because you don't get the line stretch. Find what works for you.
