My father and I are headed out to Joe Pool this afternoon to try and find an afternoon bite. I've only been on the lake once or twice and was wondering if anyone had a recent report or if anyone can point me in the right direction. I appreciate the help and will post a report tonight to let everyone know how we did.

WAs out yesterday, 5pm-8pm. fished a lil bit at bottom of bridge with minnows. Caught the joe pool specials, 1 small cat and 2 undersized sandies, all released. Try tree dipping for crappie near of loyd park on main lake, didnt catch anything.

I tried yaking the north end out of cedar hill park. First time at JPL. I will never make that same mistake again. Campers swimming, canoeing, and jet skis all over the place. Also, it was way too choppy for my setup. Caught 1 small LMB trolling behind the yak while paddling to a spot and then no luck until paddling back to the launch. I paddled up into a school of sandies, caught 3 and another LMB.

Notes: don't fish the north east side near the campgrounds, sandies are schoolin and chasing shad.

Next time, Im going to try the southern end out of Britton park.

Fished the Loyd park area from 6pm-10pm. We hit a couple of the area brush piles with no luck and fished the creek area by the boat ramp and caught a couple bass, 1 short crappie and 1 white bass. After dodging ski boats and jet skis I will never go back to that lake until it gets to cold for them to be out.
