  It was a tough day today for me on the big pond. We only managed about a dozen fish today with the biggest being right at 10 lbs. When the fish weren't cooperating at my spot this morning I went in search. I looked all over but it was not to be. Tom Keenan and his group were patient and understanding but we never were able to get em going. Meanwhile my buddies who bait fish have been whacking the fish. Guess it's time to ponder putting a little bait on the boat. Happens every year about this time or earlier but it's not my specialty. I can't get real shallow to get on the topwater bite so I'm gonna try some live bait soon. Fishing might have been a little slow today but it was still a great day on Lake Texoma.

keep after'em, big guy. my guys I'm fishing with you on the 22nd are flat out pumped. they're camping that weekend at Preston rec and want me to take them crappie fishing on the 21st. we'll see. looking forward to it, man.

Those back straps would make me a lot of dinners. Wind was out of the north for most of the day and turned East late. Not the best conditions. Good Job!

Hey John, I'm new to Texoma so I'm trying learn something about stripers.
Do they actually feed on top in water too shallow for most boats? Does it usually happen over the sandy flats or rocks?
