I need to replace my Cabelas AGM's, bought them in August of 2012. So naturally, just as the warranty goes out, the batteries start crapping out on me. For as short as they lasted, I'm tempted to just go back to old lead acid deep cycles.
Is anyone having good luck with other AGM's?

Are they not under warranty any longer? I like the Interstate AGM and a few people have the Sears AGM.

I had two separate Cabela's AGM's go out on me within a year. Finally bit the bullet and bought a Sears DieHard Platinum Marine 31m and have not been happier.
I have a 36 volt trolling motor and boat was only setup to hold three batteries (can fit a fourth but lose access to all the pumps and hoses). So one battery does dual duty. First Cabela's crapped out after less than 6 months. Got a new one from Cabela's and it died within another 6 months.
Decided to go with the Sears and it has been great. Had it for about a year now with no problems. I think their on sale now for like $245.

That's die hard batteries are pretty darn good. I wanna say mine have been in boat for 5 years. Probably gonna replace soon but so far have been doing just fine

When we were drag racing, all we ever used was Optimas.... That being said, That's what I use! Just changed the cranking battery a couple of weeks ago that was 7yrs old! The trolling motor batteries are going on 5 yrs old and are just as strong as day one! The thing you gotta remember is to be sure your charger has an AGM setting! AGM batteries like a 2A -4A charge! They will charge just fine on a higher amp, but over time they will lose a little power.... When that happens, then charge on a 2A setting for a few days and they will work just like new!

I have a couple of Sears Platinum Die Hard AGM batteries. So far, they have been some of the best ones I have owned.

I have a dual pro on board charger.
The more I read about them, the more I wonder if it wasn't the charger that gave them the short life. Dual pro will tell you the are AGM safe, but they really don't charge AGM's all the way.
I'm thinking I should just go lead acid for a couple more rounds, then replace the charger properly when I get a new set of AGM's.
