Yesterday I got home from work at 0900 and began working in the yard! After about 2.5 hours
I sat down to take a brake! I totally missed the signs of heat stress and dehydration!
I woke up flat of my back with my legs hanging over the log I was sitting on!
As I regrouped I was disoriented, called my sister, and a few minutes later the, cramps from
dehydration kicked in to full gear! They were full body cramps! I dialed 911, eh ambulance came
and rushed me off to the er! Turns out that the blood pressure medicine also had a diuretic in it,
and that zapped all the potassium and sodium, out of me! Scary stuff

what to look for
1. Dry mouth
2. Absence of sweat
3. Redness of skin
4. Slurred speech
5. Dizziness
6. Nauseous
7. Clammy feeling skin

please be careful and drink plenty of water and and gatraid or power aid
to help replace electrolytes!

Sorry to gear that man! I get Heat exhaustion fairly easy if i dont watch it. V8 is very good to keep you hydrated and healthy also potassium pills will keep the cramps away. Basically if i get a [censored] i take a potassium 525mg or drink a V8. V8 juice seems to last longer than just the potassium. I dont like sugar drinks so this is the healthiest way for me. I hope this helps. By the way how old are you if you dont mind me asking. pm me if you would like.

Prayers for you lookingfor25,glad you're doing better. I worked with some guys that suffered from heat stroke while on a maintenance crew at a fiberglass plant. One recovered fairly well, the other could not expose his body to heat again and he was sick a lot. Serious stuff. Thanks for posting the warning signs.

I would rather die finding out there was no God than die finding out there is.

Been there also. Slurred speech and lose of balance. I was on lake Conroe alone when it happened. Crappie fishing. That was 2 yrs ago and I still feel the effects of it.

yep once u have a heat stroke your never the same, . lots of pro football teams use pickle juice to hydrate and rehydrate.
With the high humidity its hard for the body to cool itself because the primary mechanism is evaportation. when sweat evaporates from the skin, it removes heat. when the air is saturated, evaporation doesnt take place very well.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Never drink those garbage sports drinks, they are all junk and do nothing but add tons of sugar and other carp to you.If your on BP meds your Doc should have advised you better then to drink such garbage.
Glad your OK,but you need to really up your game on what is really what regarding this issue.
