A must for us throat cancer survivors. Don't need any more radiation on neck!

Sure it is a good idea, I will stick with sunscreen and a large bill hat. I did wear gloves in the Amazon peacock bass fishing, that sun is by far the most intense I have ever seen.

I started wearing them in the Amazon. Some are good, some not so good...if you want to try one, the best I have found was the sun guard pro by Aqua Design. It is 29.95 but worth the money. It has breathing holes and a Velcro strap on the back to adjust the fit

Just getting used to wearing one. Does seem to help keep a little cooler BUT, major factor is the sun. Sun is hard on us....i.e., no skin cancer!
Try one, they don't cost much and suprised how quick you get used to it
God Bless

I cover head to toe. Only thing exposed are my finger tips.

I feel so much better at the end of the day. It works.

Get the simms version, it allows you to get it tighter around your sunglasses.

Started wearing one this year following skin cancer removal (face) in April. Bought one from BPS - Pelagic brand, 50 SPF. Told my wife there is good news and bad news. Good news is that I'm much better protected now. Bad news is I'll probably be mistaken for a burglar and shot by a lake-front home owner.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

frkazoid I had thought of that very thing! They are comfortable, almost to the point you forget you have it on. I did....man, that would NOT be funny. Sure wouldn't want to forget, leave it on and go into a 7-11 for a soda!!!!

God Bless

Pros:
Easier to use than sunscreen
Keeps you cooler than without
Comes in full head styles to cover everything
Can be loose fitting if you look for that style
Oh yeah...prevents SKIN CANCER

Cons:
Makes people feel a little stupid while in the waiting room of their plastic surgeon when they remember thinking how
silly other guys looked while wearing one and wondering how they will look when their face is rebuilt.

Taking note of Florida's inshore anglers I started wearing a buff in 2005. I have endured countless 'looks' and wise-cracks long before the recent popularity with bass anglers. But when it comes to this subject nothing is as uncomfortable as a sunburn and looks as bad as skin cancer. I have since started wearing sun gloves and now favor the Gillz BLAF long sleeve with mesh and mask. It features a mesh section for the mouth and nose and the same along the torso sides and inside of the arm section.

I do experience fogging of the glasses but it helps to pull them slightly away from my face.

I keep a few in my boat cooler during the summer time. I'll wear one till it dries and gets hot then swap it for a cool one. It sure makes the summer heat a little easier to bear.

Columbia Omni-Freeze when it's above 80 deg, Dipping it in water now and then helps as well.
Normal Buffs when it's 55 - 80 deg
Buffs Fleece when temps are below 55 Deg
