Way to go.  That fish had huge eyes! She's big now, but she's going to grow up to be a monster.

I will be losing my fishing buddy when he heads off to college this fall. We have been after the "Big One" for some time now as I wanted to send him off with that memory. We have some good fishing memories and catching that 6 pounder is at the top. I hope to be able to get a few more trips in before he is gone. Big fish, big memories, time well spent.
I am LSU Adam's (the OP) dad by the way.

UPDATE: Shortly after launching this morning, the wind abruptly picked up and the dark clouds rolled in. The launch became a madhouse with everybody and their brother trying to get out of the water before the bad weather really arrived. We left the boat in the water and hung out at the launch for 10 minutes or so, hoping to see the weather pass us by. However, with conditions not improving, we made the decision to forgo our second day on fork and just head home. Hopefully we'll find our way up there again before I leave for college in August. If not, Joe Pool Lake will just have to do.

Lake Fork is the one lake that no matter how tough the fishing is you always have anticipation on every cast that you could not only hook your personal best, but the fish of a lifetime. It has always made it a special place to me.

If not, Joe Pool Lake will just have to do. same for me, only got an hour this morning before ran off. also congrats on the fish yesterday! it was tough for me, 3.5 hours 8 spots and no bites. I did catch a decent one this morning though along with couple more bites.
