Last year the final weigh in was more fun than the tournament itself. They really do it up right!

This will be my 6th year and I've only found one duck. I hit it in the middle of boat lane doing about 65mph..... I'm not even sure how I saw it.

Check wind patterns to find ducks.

Don't think too hard about the ducks. They are put in the water by boat. Skeeter wants them found. They are not dropped way back in the stumps or other places that are not easy to get to. They are also not in the water far enough in advance for the wind to have much effect. The ArmyBassAnglers are responsible for the duck drop. They will give you some hints if you go see them at their booth during registration, especially if you consider buying some raffle tickets where the proceeds benefit one of the Soldier charities they support.

I've been to the owners tournament for the last several years and the duck conversation always comes up. I've heard a lot of guys saying they never found a duck and was disappointed about it, but they say they were concentrating too hard on fishing to worry about. So, being a smart arse, I asked if they ever cashed a check during one of the hourly weigh-ins. The answer is almost always, "NO!" And my answer is almost always, "Then maybe you should concentrate more on finding a duck."

They haven't dropped from a plane or helicopter in several years. I can't verify, but the story is that it became too dangerous since so many boaters were chasing the plane and looking up instead of where they were going on the water.

The last one I got to fish 3 years ago I found a duck right outside of Chaney. Had to work while it was going on the last couple of years and I have to work this year.

I always thought they dumped the Friday evening when you aren't allowed to be out on the water anymore. But lat year I think it was the Army guys were going around to a few boats and just throwing em some.

I thought they dropped them out of that red airplane? I know 2 years ago, they said they had kept them all around the Lake fork marina area because they had not all been found in previous years. It was the first time me and my partner had fished it and we really didn't know what the ducks were about. I was standing in the weigh in line with my weigh in bag in the holding tank the last hour on sunday and there was a yellow rubber duck in the holding tank and I thought "WTH" is that there for? I had no idea and man was I sick when I found out . But I did get a check at least.

I am looking forward to watching my grandson and his partner fish in the Skeeter Super Six High School Tournament. They will fish from 9 to 4:30 and weigh in at 4:30. They will weigh in on the Skeeter stage with Fish Fishburn, should be fun. There will be 18 High School teams from across Texas. Come out and support the kids.

I found 2 ducks my very first year of fishing the event, one was sitting on a marker buoy at the bridge by Axtons. The other was in a boat lane right before that.
