Any information on the Jacksonville Tomato Fest Tournament? I heard they were having one, but would like to know date, time, etc.?

I have info. There's goofy rules.
Typically on a Thursday night tourney, you can weigh three fish. Two any size and your third has to be over 18". Ideally, you'd show up with three over 18".
For the Tomato Fest, I was informed by the guy running it that ONLY one fish over 18" will be weighed and two under 18".
I repeat, only one 18" fish. Meaning, if you catch three 10 lb fish, two won't count and you have to catch two unders to go with him.
I live in J'ville and will not be fishing it. Bummed out about the rules.
Am I wrong for thinking this is a ridiculous idea?

The flyer says two fish any size one over 18. I take the meaning of any size to be any size

The flyer is incorrect according to the contact guy on the flyer.
I wish "any size" meant any size. That's how it always is and how it should be. The reasoning for only one over 18 is to prevent killing big fish in the live wells.
Silly, in my opinion.

This tournament has really went down hill in the last three years. It should be a 5 fish deal like it always was in the past.

I agree. Its a shame that Jacksonville has gone that far downhill in just a few years. It used to be a great little lake to fish.
Are the results from the tournament posted anywhere?

Yeah, I stopped fishing the tourney after a dead kept me out of the money. The last time I fished it, they wouldn't allow dead fish to be weighed (even though it was 90+ degrees), but they didn't have the scales open all day. I caught a good 4.5, but hooked her deep. Did everything I could to keep her alive, but she died right before weigh in.
