 Battery Size?

I want to power a Lowrance LMS 520C could someone tell me what size battery to get that will power it 8 hours? I tried a 12v, 7.5ah battery and it only lasted two and a half hours.

With the backlight off, that battery (assuming it is good) should last 12 hours or more. Your power consumption should be 1/2 amp.

Thanks Artie, I bought the battery at Academy and when I hooked it up I discovered it was discharged, I think I got a bad battery.
