Hi Folks, I fish from a kayak and whereas I enjoy Lake Fork I also like small bodies of water. I found three lakes close to Edgewood that all look very promising except for the public access part: Callaway Lake (very small but beautiful with lily pads that could hide a big bass or two), Old City Lake (looks very bassy but also looks completely fenced in)and Edgewood City Lake (looks good and there is a gate with hours posted for public access but I was there during Open hours and the gate was locked). So, what do you know? Help me out! Thank you, Led Blimp

I haven't been to Edgewood City Lake, but it looks like there is access off 3506 that doesn't appear to be gated? Where did you try to access it?

Mill Pond, in Canton, Tx. Go by the Police station first to pay your $3 use fee (annual fee available), the lake is behind Walmart on 243. Has good bass fishin, and I've heard it has good crappie fishin too. Smallish lake with boat ramp and dock.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

Mill Creek Lake is a wonderful small lake with some big bass. No fee for me since I use a kayak! I found out about the three lakes I asked about: Callaway and Old City Lake are now both private bodies of water and Edgewood City Lake costs $5 bucks to fish, they said they were "working on" getting the gate unlocked and no one in the city office knew what species of fish are in the lake for sure. I'm going to skip Edgewood altogether and fish Mills Creek, Lake Fork and Purtis Creek Lake the time being.

Have you tried Holbrook Led Blimp? It's also a great bass lake.
