The new seat will fit into any 2012 or newer Ride series kayak. Any WS Ride purchased between May 1, 2014 - June 30, 2014 will receive a voucher in the amount of $150 to put towards the purchase of the Air Pro Max. The vouchers will not come from Wilderness Systems, but from a participating retailer. Luck for us in DFW, Mariner Sails is a participating retailer. If you're thinking about purchasing a Ride series, I would get er done by the 30th.

So, no new seat for Tarpons? I have been seriously considering a Tarpon over a Ride because of the better car topping ability and speed. Hmmm.

I'm pretty happy with the phase 3 seat but if the price is right I might bite

Getting that high up over the kayak, I think stability should be a concern. You notice how he is stretching to reach down to the fish and yet trying to keep his head and shoulders centered over the kayak. Just something to be aware of!
Just one more cast!

Sitting in a high seat will always decrease your stability, especially when you are talking about a real high seat not just a 4 inch lift like "high" has been. The ride 115 is super stable though. I use the high seat in my jackson coosa and lip fish all the time, and the ride 115 is even more stable than the coosa. Point being...I wouldn't worry about the stability if You have a any amount of balance in You

I would say thats just what it looked like when the photo was taken. You will loose some stability being higher but in the Ride that won't be not a factor.

I think what you gain more than anything is comfort. You can always shift to low position at any time on the water if you feel unstable. Even if you never use the raised feature, you will still have a more comfortable seat.

Does not look like the Air Pro Max pics on the W'S website. I do like the looks of this seat.

Nice. That $150 sure will make it tempting. How much do we think it will be? 250-300?

Probably closer to the 300 range. Competitive with other aftermarket seats

Probably closer to the 300 range. Competitive with other aftermarket seats The Jackson seat is $200 and I thought that was steep. I heard this one is a "game changer" but that was from the Wildy fanboys. I look forward to hearing the specs. I might even buy one to rig on my Outback instead of a Jackson seat like I planned...

It is on the higher end of the price point Bobby. "Game changer" depends on the user. Some people say reverse on a propel drive is a game changer and others don't. So its relative, I will say that it does have features that similar looking seats do not have. It will definitely have some unique characteristics.
