Fishermen:

Caught half a limit of crappie, most around 11 inches with a sprinkling of 13 inch fish with minnows and black/chart jigs while mainly fishing for catfish.

I guess beggars can't be choosers out here in West Texas with the extreme drought conditions and extremely low lake levels. Millers Creek is down 21 feet plus, the catfish are spawning despite the low lake levels. A friend and I caught a limit each from the bank at the lake; with the best fishing in the rocks rather than the stumps. Punch bait was the ticket in 3-5 feet. Ran out of punch bait and continued catching fish on dead minnows. One of the best bites from the bank I have had, most fish were blues with a few channel cats. Ranged from 1 lb.- 6 lbs.
No big boat launch presently, water is past the end of the ramp, but some are launching flat bottom boats and other small craft.

Good Fishing,
Mud-Dabber

Thanks Jim, the rains helped our feelings out here, but other than O.H. Ivie very little runoff in any of the lakes and very few have boat launches anymore. Appreciate the invite, before long I may have to resort to being king of the carp/buffalo fish as that may be the only thing left in our lakes.

My crappie fishing skills have diminished so much I am using minners, who would have thought. haha

How is that young un doing?
