I found a nice lilly pad bed and I want to get some frog action out of it. I have a few small frogs and am looking to get a couple full sized frog. I like the way the natural frog colors look but I am wondering if brighter frogs might get more hits or if it maters at all.
What frog color is your favorite?

I fish pads a lot and usually have a Black/Yellow spotted Frog and a White/Green Back Frog tied on. I use the Black Frog when they are after frogs, perch/bream and other creatures and I use the White Frog when they are after Shad/Bait Fish. But I think all will work, for me the Frog bite in the pads is best when the sun is high and bright and think the Bass really just strike at the shadow silhouette that the frog makes going over the pads.

Spro-65 Navy Seal! Bass only see in black and white (all those fancy colors are for us) and when they look up they just see a dark shadow so I throw a dark frog.

You are mistaken, bass see color and see it very well. here are a ton of scientific articles that show they do indeed see in color and not black and white. https://www.google.com/#q=do+bass+see+color

Frog colors crack me up. There are several brands with thers fancy colors and you turn them over and the underside is white or natural color. Reckon who the appeal is directed towards - us or the fishy?

Reckon who the appeal is directed towards - us or the fishy? Heck to be honest 99% of the lures on the market are marketed towards anglers first and fish second. Look at how painstaking some custom painted crankbaits are detail wise. All for a bait that is probably a blurr as it goes by. I heard it put best years ago. When we buy baits all we are really buying is confidence. We all probably have some color and pattern preferences and in the end you gotta have faith in it before you throw it. Reality is you will fish a bait harder and better if you have faith in it. I also have no shame in admitting I enjoy finding and buying tackle whether its econo priced or high end. Its all part of the fun that i get from fishing.

I guarantee you and I could go fish the exact same frog side by side and you'd catch more fish cuz you KNOW you're gonna catch fish. You have confidence in a frog.

I doubt it, you would win because I suck at fishing no matter how much confidence in a bait I have.... ...thank goodness for blind, one eyed or just plain stupid bass or I would never get bit.

Action and presentation mean more than color. Hell a bass will eat a rooster tail if thrown in the right spot. Whens the last time you saw a school of roostertails swim by while fishing?

Say what you want about color, I hate giving away all my secrets (LOL) but the spro popping frog is the best frog on the market, period. The top colors for me have been Leopard, Rain Forest Black and here lately the Killer Gill has been unreal. When I look at the frogs, I look at the bottom color, thats what the fish see and the mouth on the poppers.
The leopard and rain forest black both have RED mouths, the killer gill has an orange mouth. The color on the bottom of the Leopard looks like a spring frog, it has a white/yellowish bellow with black wrinkle lines, the Rain Forest Black has a black bellow with yellow wrinkles. The killer gill has a silver belly with blue/silver scales on the sides and black and blue tail. I think the fish see this as a shad or something more than they do a frog.
I have recently took some of Mark's unsolcited advice and bought a few of the Megabass Pony Gabbot frogs. They are more expensive and more fragile, I have not caught a fish on them yet, but just used it once and tore the mouth on a stump to the point that I thought I was going to have to throw it away. Thats never happened with a Spro frog, for me. The Spro frogs are more durable, but I also bought some Mend it, and have used it to repair the Megabass frog, I have been in complete amazement at how this mend it works on these frogs, its magical.
Last thing, good luck finding that Killer Gill Popping frog, at least around D/FW, I look everywhere I go and rarely ever see it and if I do I buy it. Tackle Warehouse can not keep them in stock either, so there is something to the color.
