First, I would welcome you to the Fishing Forum. I mean that, but your not going to like the rest of my reply.
I am old school. I was raised and have lived my life, I won't be lied to, i won't be man handled and I do not run in any circumstances from trouble. These have served me well through my life. I learned these principals I have lived by from my father and my time in the service. You do NOT back away from trouble. It won't solve a thing. (LOL, I'm not big and not 'salty', but I sure don't run).

Now,pardner, I feel, I have been lied to by this company and your right, I'm P.O.'d!

I am passing along what has happened to me so, hopefully, I can help all the rest of ya'll avoid having this same thing happen to you.
Bad business, bad practices all add up to me at least, a product that may or may not produce their claim but sure as heck treated this, their potential, future customer like [censored].
I don't like being told to "calm down". I will make that decision.
Now, I honestly appreciate your reply and welcome you here to the forum but, I will make all decision regarding me. Ok?
Enjoy yourself here on the TFF. There are MANY good folks here and most have good advice to pass along. In that tradition...I am passing along what I still feel is information on a bad company and bad treatment of it's 'potential customers'.

God Bless

Ok, ??? I watched, or tried to this first video of three. The sound quality is not good and I could not understand what he was saying so, I do not understand your point.
I'm sure you thought this pertinent but, not being able to understand what he is saying I missed whatever your point is/was.

Found this funny when Howell won the classic on a "prototype" maybe the long bait was due to the fact that they had to design and R&D a bait from scratch

Not necessarily, I believe it was a few years back when Mark Rose? whooped everyone on Sam Rayburn with a 10XD. It was "not released" but it was in stock in all stores the 2 weeks after that.

Well, IMO, pretty 'shoddy' treatment to Livingston 'customers'. I know I WON'T be back!

Hey Lee, I completely understand your frustration. I'd be upset as well. But one thing to need to understand, is that when you preordered, it even said below the price that it will ship in 90 days. So that would be right around the beginning of March when everyone should start receiving correctly. Not to mention, they were on back order for awhile due to so many orders. But, 3 months is kinda ridiculous in my opinion too. But like was stated before, you're still one of the first to have them. I've seen pictures and reports of others receiving them. But no other stores currently have them in stock. Bass Pro may be the only exception. I may be wrong about that. But to my knowledge, they're still not available in stores. Walmart, Academy, and numerous stores now carry Livingston, but as for the Howeller, not yet. And to be perfectly honest, I don't even have one yet. And I'm on the pro staff.

I'm not gonna try to convince to come back. That's your decision, and I completely understand. If I was in your shoes, I would probably do the same thing. I just want to try and help you understand that when you preordered, it said it will ship in 90 days. And if I understand correctly, you did receive all the other models or ordered fairly quickly right? Or did you buy those at the store? Not sure if you ordered them, but if you did, you should've gotten them fairly quickly, and that should say something. Everyone I've talked to that has ordered something from them, got their order within a week. All mine have been within a week.

I don't mean to start a debate or argument with anyone. Your opinion is your opinion, and you have the right to share it. I just want to help as much as I can

I'm pretty sure that LL never claimed to have a "can't loose" bait (similar to the late-night 'infomercials'). They are simply putting a new concept (living sound) into a hard bait....and they are also working to improve their baits on a daily basis. They are not as expensive as say Lucky Crafts, King Shads, and some others, that have come out on the market within the last 10 years. I paid $25 each (in 2007) for two Strike King "King Shads". While judging in Jay Yelas' boat at the TTBC, I saw Jay hook a monster bass in Little Mustang. The fish was so strong...it pulled the split ring off the bait. Was enough for me to try them. Funny how I'm usually too afraid to throw them, due to a fear of loosing 'em. I'm not afraid to throw my Livingston baits...primarily because they work for me.

As for the "prototype" claims made by pros at the Elites/FLW's: maybe they are covering for themselves when they throw non-sponsored baits, or maybe they had signed non-disclosure agreements...and could not divulge the baits that they were throwing at that time.

I believe that Livingston Lures are what you make of them. If you work/experiment with them, you can personalize LL baits to fit your own strengths. Hank Cherry did that with the LL Stick Master (jerk bait) to a 4th Place finish at the Classic in Oklahoma. Stetson Blaylock threw the Dive Master 20 to sack over 100 pounds at the recent TTBC on Fork. Randy Howell was throwing the "Howeller" on G-ville at this year's classic. Randy had been working with LL long before that event, to fine tune the bait for production. Anyone can see this on a video on the LL website...that shows Randy working an unpainted version of the bait (before he went to G-ville). Livingston Lures has a pretty good Pro-Staff base in Jacob Powroznik (won the T. Bend Elite stop last month), Andy Montgomery (FLW Angler of the Year), and many others. These guys, along with the previously mentioned, have reputations to keep...and all seem to be happy with their positions with LL.

I know personally, that Livingston baits have earned Top 10 finishes in my own B.A.S.S. Nation SE regional circuit. Was it a poor deal to have waited so long for a pre-ordered bait that helped to win this year's classic? Yes. Could they have had such a response, that it took longer to meet the shipping demands? Possibly. When KVD won the Classic with his new "shad sound machine", it wasn't long before everyone wanted one. I see Livingston baits attempting to use this same methodology. With the success that they've had recently, I'm willing to use them.

Hi Ron, well I did not claim the lure worked or not. Believe me, I have MANY more 'Nots' than 'Do's'. My cause for never doing business with this company was/is that the inference that by 'pre-ordering' I would be among the first to receive the dang thing!
I WAS NOT! It is now even advertised on here. They have zero customer loyalty and as far as I'm concerned no ethical business practices or policies whatsoever!
It may or may not work, so far, I like MANY others think this is more DUD, than DEAL!
In any case, I am and will continue to pass along my opinion, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
God Bless

frkazoid Rightttttttttttttt............
I can't attest if the dang thing works or not but, so far NOTHING! This is with their 'jerkbaits'.
I can tell you it sure seems MUCH more DUD than DEAL and whoever is running the place demonstrates ZERO customer loyalty or ethics!
You want to buy some, be my guest, but I sure will NOT.
Not ever again. Just my 2 cents. Been there, done that!

I am confused at what the actual issue is. I don't think anyone can get this bait right now, or at least before u did in a store. So they did exactly what u expected..... and your mad. Please help me understand where this bait is available, before you got yours. Who got one before u did? r we talking a week maybe even 2.

Even if someone did why would that make u mad? Because the dang thing is not gonna be ur best bait after April of this year.

Anyone who orders a lure because it won the Classic got taken. Howell weighed the majority of his fish on a DT6. There are tackle boxes full of knock-off Classic winning baits all over this country. They'll all catch fish in the right situation.

To me, it seems like Livingston Lures came out of nowhere and signed a few big names and up and comers. Then a couple more tournament winners. They spare no expense on nationwide advertising. I'm always leery of any company who throws so much at advertising without a proven track record. If a design is so good, it will sell on its merits. How much was the A-Rig advertised before Paul Elias exposed it?

Finally, what did LL promise in their "pre order yours today" campaign? Any time frame where they'd be available only through pre-orders? If there was no implied time frame where you would "be the first", then I really don't see the problem.

Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

I was given the 'expectation' to be among the first to receive the lure, even their local pro re-enforced that. Not so! They are even advertised on the forum here. Readily available at retail stores. That means my order was NOT shipped until the same time as every other order.
In a nutshell, that is why I am so P.O.'d at them.
Your right, I was naive enough to get 'taken in'.
I did buy, and as promised they shipped me two of their 'jerkbait' products. I have had ZERO success in even getting a bite with them and I hear absolutely zero sounds from it.
So, that product at least I can testify is a piece of junk.
The problem: my expectations of a customer priority of loyalty and appreciation. Their policy and forthrightness are completely lacking.
As for DEAL or DUD, so far along with this [censored], my vote is DUD.
I will NEVER buy any product from this 'business' again and hope to steer anyone/everyone away from this bunch.
Just passing along good/bad experiences...so that others won't get sucked in by their hype as well.
Hope this briefly answers why I'm so P.O.'d ...??
God Bless

Spend more time fishing and less time whining. You will learn to get confidence in baits from the actual experience rather than waiting for a prized bait to arrive in the mail. Geeesss get over it
