then there was this large dragonfly I failed to hook
but it had a sense of humor and hung around on my hat anyway

as seen above we did get us a few doubles
some not near as good as others size wise

you may have noticed my jig was flat gone down the throat of the larger fish
and here it is before adding water ..

clear sparkle Bonehead plastic ..!
don't know the name
but it WORKS ....

the crappie were a bit slow for us today

quite a few small fish ...
not many large specimens

don't panick just yet ....
we managed a fair number of keep fish

some obviously larger than others

but we bore pretty easy .....
so we said we could always go slam sum bull bluegill

kept about 50 or so total fish
a few pretty ok crappie
a couple of medium black bass
and a bunch a nice bream

and also developed our newest presentation as well
a 1/64 oz number 8 unpainted
with a Bonehead weed guard in chartreuse
lots of testing goin on don't ya know

a few other Bonehead Baits ketched sum crappie as well
but nothing was better than the clear sparkle in the sunshine today

never fished deeper than 14 fow today
fish were in every depth we pitched
from 2 foot deep to 14 ....
shallowest crappie were in about 8 fow
heaviest bait tossed was a custom hand tie 1/16 oz
it only ketched black bass
the crappie all took 1/32 oz Slowly Fallin baits
the bream took jigs in 1/64 and 1/128 oz
slow fallin as well
water temp was in the 80eez
algae bloom in full swing as well
bait everywhere and fish chasing it
hit the water about 2 30 pm...
left about 7 30 pm....
made for a very pleasant afternoon

really was nice ...and the snake is our bud
he is a water chicken snake aka texas rat snake
seems confused ....he is always in or close to the water
he was mid lake getting after it today
go figure

Gills and Crappie a super combination! "KABOOM".




Side Note: I can do without the snakes and turtles.
