Have not seen the boat in person, will be heading out tomorrow to inspect and possibly purchase. Compression was 120-125, 120-125, 115-120. Its a 1998 Skeeter ZX 185c. Would appreciate anyones advice on the pictures below of some imperfections on the boat and what it would take to fix.

#1 - Damage to clear coat on passenger rear. They have the metal flake, just has not been fixed yet. How much would repairing something like this cost roughly?

#2 - Damage underneath boat on one side only, looks like it was parked up against some rocks.

#3 - This should be easy to fix.

that crack is not just gel coat, it is broken glass and will require someone that knows what they are doing to fix.

compression on the one cyl. (115) is not bad but not good either.

From someone who buys and sells pre-owned boats, you want nothing to do with that one. PASS.
Whatever you are willing to spend keep looking you will find one much better, I promise!

Texas is the epicenter of used bass boats. There are thousands and thousands of beautiful nice boats at reasonable prices and then there are trashed out boats people are trying to dump.

Take your time and buy the right boat, or you will regret your decision and the loss of your money for a long time...

Another thing to check on a boat of that age, Seperation between the top cap from the hull. This is done by manually pressing on the motor jackplate up and down, looking for gaps.
As mentioned above, its been abused, move on.

at the right price, alot of things can be overlooked. A used boat is gonna have some scars. As long as motor runs fine, no real structural damage, and a good negotiated price, I say go for it.

I agree with this. The pics posted show cosmetic damage. The crack on the sponson I would have fixed. I have fished out of my boat for 16 years and it bares the the scars cracks and everything else from fishing tournaments and my stupid mistakes. Life and injuries have also intervened and mine had to live outside and still does covered. This is abuse according to some on this forum that keep their boats inside climate controled storage or garages modified to fit the boat. They will be the first to scream RESALE VALUE wile loosing thousands due to DEPRECIATION due to age and the fact that it is used. So make a decision and live by it and remember they are great big holes in the water you dump money into. Hop's CHAMP is a great example of what can be done. Nice CHAMP HOP!

Ain't it tha truth. If ya gonna keep it "pristine". Buy new and fish tha middle of tha lake. No eatin', drinkin', smokin', dippin', live bait allowed.........If some blimishes bother ya and just superficial ya build it inta tha price for gettin' it fixed. In your case I'd be more concerned 'bout tha motor! Its lots more expensive to fix if its not all good......jmo
