Have friends that have a house on Fork. See eagles buzzing overhead pretty regularly. I like to mess with them and tell them they need to keep their small dogs inside or else...
First time I saw a Baldie in the wild was in the early '80s in a cove on Sam Rayburn. It's as impressive now as it was then, just a little more common thankfully.

very nice picture, I seen an eagle on Toledo bend a few years ago that kept sweeping down trying to get a small bass from a crane, after a few misses the eagle finally gave up and they both flew off. Was pretty cool to watch.
