I just got back from my annual trip to Caddo Lake...a true paradise in Texas. We have been staying at Crips Camp for almost 25 years. The camp is getting a little run down and the group is considering switching to another place next year. We want a place that will sleep up to 8 people (even if we have to rent two units). We also need a place located on the water where we can leave our boats in the entire time we are there. Prefer a place on the lake and not in the river. Would consider a house or a cabin. We like the Uncertain area or maybe the area around Potters Point. Yes, I am researching the internet but does anyone here have any suggestions. Thanks

Johnson's but they have no dock to leave the boat in the water.

You might try Shady Glade Resort.

It's not on the lake.. but Hodgepodge Cottages.

She has 7 or so houses- all different sizes. they share a boat dock and it's 100 yards from Shady Glade ( ramp and restuarant ).

I am not sure Johnsons will be any better than Crips.

I have stayed at Shady Glade before and we might give them a try again. Definitely better condition than Crips but as you said, they are not on the water.

I have been looking at Hodgepodge. They actually do have a few on the water. This is the top contender right now.

thanks for the input....keep it coming.

Thanks Bass Coach, I came across their website earlier. They definitely look like a contender as well. Their rates are a little confusing on their website as far as the cost and how many can stay and whether it is the lodge or the tree house, so I just need to give them a call for some clarification.

Thought ... Ask Johnson's about the house across from the river from them. That may be the ideal guys weekend place.

Dick and Charlie's Tea Room.

It may not be inhabitable but it would be cool if available.

I know you say that you've been on the internet but whenever I need lodging at Caddo, I use this website:

Just returned from Johnsons...cabin was fine and lady proudly pointed to where they had installed AC outside the cabin just for charging our boat batteries. It was a short post with an opened electrical box on top with open (LIVE) bare electrical wires to splice into.

We opened a cabin window and instead ran our extension cord inside the cabin.

hmmm

I been going to Caddo for several years and always stayed at Shady Glade. The new owners have been very accommodating and the cabins and trailers are always well kept. They have a dock and restaurant. Prices are reasonable as well.
