Late one night this weekend I was watching IGFA angler. Well the Spirits must have moved me because dang it if I didn't order some of those dadgum offshore soft swimbaits that guy is always hawking. I figure at about $3.50 a piece it's worth getting a couple to look at but at $3.50 a piece kinda makes me wonder what kinda hardware they are built with. I got a couple each of the Git Lit Mini-Macs and Hogie Pogies. It really makes me wonder too cause I can't find one review of them anywhere. At least not the saltwater ones. Anyone else know anything about these things?

Soft plastic swimbaits always account for some of the YFT we catch on our annual trips. there are some guys that will use nothing else.

They most definatly got me on this one, don't buy GitLit swimbaits! It's been two weeks since my order and they haven't replied to any of my 4-5 emails I sent them. It's in a PayPal dispute now. I will take the money if I ever get it back and try big hammer. At least they seem to be a reputable company.

One of my favorite things to throw at YFT was a swimbait sold by Grandad's Tackle. It's no longer available. A reliable company that has many choices of swimbaits is:

Those Hogy 10" double wides look awesome but is that too big for YFT? They keep showing them for Bluefin. That almost seems like bass fishing on steroids.

Storm makes a couple of great swimbaits/heads that are strong enough for YFT

This is the Hogy i'm talking about its 10" and just shy of 3oz unrigged. They were fishing it for schoolie bluefin about the same size as gulf YFT.
