I'm gonna be crappie fishing from my kayak in the twin coves area tonight if anyone wants to join me. I'll be checkin the forum until I leave work around 5 or 6 and will be heading to the lake around 7 or 8

I do not own a kayak or boat, but I often bank fish the Twin Coves Park area on a perch of rocks. I will be the one in the dark green folding Coleman chair. Will be there tonight from 5:30pm - 8:30 pm. If you paddle into the North cove, just West of the Twin Coves Marina, I'll be on the right side as you paddle up. Holler "Scott in Flower Mound", and if I hear ya, I'll say hello.

Well I would have been on the water by 8 but both Yates and griffis were closed so I couldn't get minnows. Goin early tomorrow instead.
Scott, did you catch anything?

I caught two early on, and then nothing. I got there at 5:30pm, and left by 7:10pm.

Yates was closed? As in no longer in business? Or as in hours of operation? Haven't been over that way in a while.

I went back out to twin Coves this morning and caught a couple. Had to switch from chartreuse and white, to glitter/all-chartreuse jigs. Then the bites picked up.

Went back Saturday morning and Yates was open. They claim that they don't close until 8pm but I was there at 7:45pm. They must have left a few minutes early.
But from what I'm seeing on the net, Griffis is closed permanently. There was a sign up saying "GONE FISHIN".
That means that Yates is the only place I know of that sells minnows around Grapevine Lake and the ones I got there were only about 1.5"-1.75" long. They were TINY!
If anyone knows of other bait shops near grapevine lake please let me know.

I caught a bunch of fish but only 2 were crappie, and only 1 of those was a keeper. 13"
I also caught a about 10 LMB and 20-30 big bluegill.
