Booked a cabin with my dad who hasn't been able to fish in the past year due to an illness on Rayburn for next weekend never have fished this lake before but have been wanting to for awhile now. Not asking for honey holes or anything, but any tips or areas to target or baits would be appreciated.

I had pretty good action early and late in the day on booyah leopard frog over Lilly pads and grass in 3 to 8'. Other than that use your graph to locate some structure and your preferred method for catching bass over deep water structure.

Was there two weeks ago and caught a lot of fish on lipless cranks on points. Had to weed through the little ones to get keepers, but it was fun!

I also caught them in the grass, I was told there are some in the "NEW WATER" with the lake on the rise.

Use pop r's out on farmers flats or fish the spill way points on both spill ways there are tons of little fish but you have the chance of catching a big one.

Some South Lake Sam Rayburn Hotspots are: Piedgon Roost cove...use crankbaits, buzzbaits, over Hydrilla. Farmers Flats...use watermellon soft plastic in grass. Needmore Point...all lures usually work depending on time of day.Powell park cove...Try under boat dock and in back of cove. Buck Bay Point...use plastics on this point in deep grass. LOL. Did you copy and paste this from a report 10 yrs ago?

Only thing that would've made it better is if he had about 6 sponsors in his signature.
