I went out yesterday and hit the jetties. The water was green and fairly smooth with just small pieces of seaweed scattered. The Reds, Specks, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel and Sharks were all hungry and were out all day.

We went out this morning (Saturday) to try the surf, hearing but not believing how much seaweed is down there. I can't remember ever seeing so much. We waded out of east beach - there was so much seaweed that it was pretty unfishable. Used popping corks and live shrimp and did manage one ladyfish. The seaweed is not as heavy in areas where they have tried to pile up what has washed ashore. Opted for a rock groin after the rain and nada on live shrimp on the bottom or under a popping cork. Then switched to silver spoons and wham-o. Let the lure fall. Stop-start. Some solid trout and fairly constant action. All in all worth it to head down there. At the end of the rock groin, greener water with less seaweed is in reach. Very light winds also. Good luck.
