Some of y'all may have already seen this, but Leander, Texas FLW pro Clark Wendlandt suffered a heart attack on Memorial Day while at Douglas Lake in Tennessee. He was there practicing for the BASS Northern Open.

He is one of the best guys out there. Be praying for him and for his family as he mends.

It sounds like he will eventually be ok (according to this BassFan.com story).

I've never had a heart attack, but I have had cardiac intervention work done. When I read this story, it reminded me of what my cardiologist once said - what kills guys in their 40s with heart disease is denial.

As in I'm too young for this, it couldn't be my heart.

If you ever have symptoms of heart disease or a heart attack, don't delay in seeing a doctor.

Any guy over 40 should have a check up every year just to be safe. I know that sounds young but would rather be safe than sorry. I had a heart problem at 44 years of age, thanks to the doctors at Diagnostic Clinic in Houston, who had me in bed for 31 days, giving me antibiotics around the clock. Since then I have a check up regularly, now I'm 78 and still kicking and fish almost every day !

Never test the depth of the water with both feet.
